When it comes to finding the best eats in SRQ, I rely heavily on social media and where my foodie friends are dining. One resource I love is the Curbside Suncoast Food & Drink To Go FB group that was started by Sarasota locals to help keep our local restaurants in business during this pandemic. This week, I thought I would share with you my top five eats!
First up, Solorzano Bro's pizza! Nothing like an authentic jersey style white pizza for dinner. DYK: on Tuesday's they offer (2) for 20 on XL plain pies? Talk about a deal. Make sure to order a few cannoli's to-go, their strawberry dipping sauce is to die for!
Next, we ventured out to one of my favorite local food trucks... Dona Betty's. If you're looking for good o'le authentic Mexican street tacos, look no further! These bad boys are roughly $2 a piece and are packed with flavor. Choose from al pastor (seasoned pork), pollo (chicken), asada (steak), carnitas (pork), chorizo (sausage) and more. We also ordered her fresh tamales (one chicken and one pork). Definitely recommend snagging two of those and saving it for breakfast the next day, hell we even added a fried egg to them #Delicioso!
OK sandwich lovers, where you at? Do I even need to tell you where this is from? If you're a local you know exactly what sandwich this is :) aka The Surfer from Anna's Deli!
This next place is very near and dear to my heart as it's a family-owned joint full of soul and sas, G's Southern Kitchen ! Located in the Bobby Jones Golf & Country Club, chef G is bringing the heat with his Finger Lickn' good wings. Wild Wing Wednesday is a MUST, pick up your favorite flavors for only .50 a wing!
Last but certainly not least, a refreshing acai bowl from Detweiler's Farm Market.
